Outreach
Projects that go anywhere, close to local residents and organisations, to discover and practise hip-hop culture.
Sharing hip-hop culture
Alongside its creations, Compagnie Niya develops projects open to all audiences, away from traditional stages: primary and secondary schools, community centres, libraries, local authorities, festivals…
Led by the company’s professional performers and facilitators, our workshops build self-confidence, inclusion, listening and creativity, in a supportive and participatory setting.
All our formats are mobile, adaptable and technically self-sufficient. They can be one-off sessions or part of an educational project, a cultural highlight or an artist residency.
Workshops

Dance
A gateway to self-expression and group cohesion: taking up space, channelling energy, asserting presence and confidence.

DJing & Music production
The DJ’s digital tools, the basics of mixing, rhythm and sound composition. Focus, musical logic, cooperation.

Graffiti
On paper or in virtual reality: create, imagine, project yourself in space. Fine motor skills, visual perception, attention to detail.

Beatbox
Vocal control, rhythmic understanding and breathing. Fun and accessible, it builds confidence in public speaking.

Slam
Structuring your thoughts, expressing an idea or emotion through rhythm and words: self-esteem, ease in speaking, listening.
A format for every project
Discovery workshops
Introduction to and practice of a discipline of your choice. A short capsule format, on its own or as part of an event (sports day, school fair…).
Urban village
Several taster workshops together, with a DJ, a panna football pitch, a graffiti performance… Fully self-sufficient, from set-up to pack-down.
Village + show
Combined with the show “Du Bronx aux JO”, or as regular workshops with a final goal: end-of-year show, competition, sports or arts module.
Du Bronx aux JO
From a basketball court in the Bronx to the Olympic Games: demonstrations, stories, audience interaction and live performances to understand the history, disciplines and values of hip-hop.
Discover the showOutreach
Each creation can be accompanied by discussions, outreach workshops or a co-designed educational programme. With Hand in Cap, for example: talking about difference, meetings with disability sports clubs or medical facilities.
