The Company
Niya: good intention in every action.
Hip-hop dance as a way to connect people
Compagnie Niya was founded in 2011 by Rachid Hedli, after a rich career as a performer, dancer and teaching artist with various professional companies.
Its name, which evokes good intention in every action, guides the company’s path and lies at the heart of its projects. Constant attention is paid to transmission and cultural accessibility.
Drawing on hip-hop culture and its values, through education and artistic practice, the company places personal growth at the heart of its approach, helping everyone become aware of their own potential. Whether it explores working-class history, disability or the bond between live music and movement, each creation calls on sensitivity and humanity.

Rachid Hedli
Shaped by years of collaboration with various professional companies, Rachid Hedli has refined a style that embraces contemporary hip-hop, always in dialogue with unexpected musical worlds, images and the spoken word.
With the company, he takes part in artistic research labs and develops an approach to creation, touring and outreach that refuses to be confined to a single style.
“Above all, I seek to build bridges. Bridges between disciplines, between sensibilities, between audiences.”Rachid Hedli
